Welcome to Sussex Cardinals Baseball & Softball Club Sports

The Sussex Cardinals trace their roots back to 1922, when the Land O’ Lakes Baseball League (LOL) was first established by Martin Weber.  Sussex was a founding member of the league, competing alongside original teams from Hartland, Lannon, Menomonee Falls, Monches, and Pewaukee.  Over the decades, the Cardinals became a fixture in both the Western and Lake Country Divisions, consistently contending for postseason spots.

The Cardinals captured their first LOL championship in 1973, and after decades of dedication and growth, celebrated their second title in 2023.

What truly sets the Sussex Cardinals apart goes beyond wins and championships, it's the culture they’ve built.  Rooted in community, tradition, and a deep love for the game, the Cardinals embody the spirit of amateur baseball at its best.

Off the field, the Cardinals are just as committed.  The team actively supports local youth baseball and softball programs, participates in community events, and partners with nonprofit organizations throughout the Sussex area.  Giving back to the village that supports them has always been a cornerstone of the club’s mission.

For the Cardinals, baseball is more than a game, it’s a way to bring people together.  More than just a team, the Sussex Cardinals have become a family, on the field and in the community.
